We hold regular Savate interclub competitions in Cambridge at the St Bedes Sportshall. These are friendly events, open to CAMA and GBSF members. Come back regularly for updates!
We held a Savate interclub competition in Cambridge in July. We were pleased to welcome savate fighters from Birmingham, Coventry, London and Surrey to this friendly event, open to CAMA and GBSF members.
Now that we are back in the gym, there will be opportunities for promotional testing for
Juniors and Adults in Autumn 2024. Come back for an update.
Teams from Cambridge will be competing in the annual team Canne de Combat competition in Paris. Each team consists of 3 athletes, who all participate in each 6 minute bout, usually facing 2 different opponents for periods of 1 minute each. Great format which means you get to meet many opponents during the competition.

Savate Combat is always fought in the ring. The video below shows some finals of the 2007 World Championships.
Demonstration of canne de combat : The cannists are Kevin Colin (Figeac) and Yoann Leuret (Toulouse). Canne competitions take place in a circular arena, without ropes, but this should give you the idea....
It's not every day that you get to train with someone who has won National, European, and World Championship titles… but we had one of those rare opportunities to do so! The seminar was open to anyone interested in Savate Boxe Française (French Boxing).
Smaël is a true champion in ability and manner, with the highest quality of technical skills. A very able instructor, he can adapt his teaching according to the needs of the public, whether elite level competitors, fitness enthusiasts or young athletes. All-in-all, an enjoyable day.
Following on from the Training Seminar with Smael Mayouf (on 21st July), we held an Open Savate Assaut competition, at St. Bede's Sports Hall.
